Area football teams get first real look Friday

Elkhart area high school football teams will get their first head-to-head “tests’’ tonight with the annual controlled scrimmages.

Schools will participate in designed possessions with the football, often with scripted plays, in a variety of settings.

At Jimtown’s scrimmage with Rochester, the entry fee will be $2 per person. The scrimmage will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The first $500 collected at Knepp Field will be directed to the Indiana Football Hall of Fame.

Tonight’s Scrimmages

Fort Wayne at Central, 6 p.m.

Plymouth at Penn, 6:30

Goshen at Columbia City, 7 p.m.

Wawasee at Marian, 7 p.m.

Mishawaka at Concord, 7:30

SB St. Joseph’s at Memorial, 7:30

Rochester at Jimtown, 7:30

Lakeland at Northridge, 7:30

NorthWood at SB Washington, 7:30

Fairfield at Bremen, 7:30
