ELKHART — Paul L. Cook, 89, of Elkhart, died at 12:25 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart.

Paul was born July 10, 1923, to Albert and Mary (Yarman) Cook in Warsaw.

He married Lois Horne on Oct. 11, 1942, in Elkhart.

She survives along with a son, Dennis (Joan) Cook of Batavia, Ill.; a daughter, Cynthia (Fred) Zimmermann of Elkhart; a sister, Juanita Uhlig of Plymouth; three brothers, Ronnie (Jill) Cook of Plymouth, Gilford (Judy) Cook of Elkhart, and Gerold Cook of Sydney, Ohio; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Cook and Paul Cook Jr., and three brothers, Albert Cook Jr., Sheldon Cook and Cecil Cook.

Paul retired from CTS after 40 years where he was a group leader.

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Paul was a member of the Moose Lodge and Faith United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at Hartzler Gutermuth Inman Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
