Police searching for suspect in Wednesday morning robbery

ELKHART — The Elkhart Police Department is searching for a suspect after Energy Oil was robbed Wednesday morning.

Officers were dispatched to 1245 South Main Street at 7:28 a.m. The suspect is described as a black male wearing a black shirt and black shorts and carrying a handgun. He stole an undisclosed amount of cash and tobacco products before fleeing the gas station on foot, according to a press release from the police department.
