The Crossing returns to Goshen
The Crossing’s original Goshen campus closed last fall because of low enrollment. It provided transportation for its Goshen students to take classes at the Elkhart campus.
Rob Staley, executive director of the Crossing Educational Center, said that after the Goshen location closed, several local business people contacted him saying how much they missed having The Crossing in the community.
That caused Staley to talk more with Goshen Community Schools about ways to re-open a Goshen Crossing location.
Goshen Community Schools administration provided a list of local students not enrolled in Goshen Schools or any other schools. Staley said The Crossing has since been working to recruit those students and now has an enrollment of between 12 and 15. That number should be between 25 and 30 within the month, he said.
The new campus now works out of The Post, a Christian youth center in downtown Goshen, which Staley called “a very inexpensive move.” The Post is at 301 E. Lincoln, Ave., Goshen. The previous Goshen location was at 1202 W. Pike St.
The Crossing is currently accepting students to its Elkhart County campuses in Goshen, Elkhart and Nappanee. To enroll call 226-0671, or complete an Intent to Enroll form on the Crossing’s website at www.crossingeducation.com.
