ELKHART — Leonard P. Morris Jr., 58, of Elkhart, passed away at 6:38 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born Dec. 13, 1953, in Pemsket County, Mo., to Leonard P. and Elzie (Ward) Morris Sr. On July 6, 1992, he married Norma J. Wasserman.

She survives along with three children, Josh Morris of Greeley, Colo., January Morris of Bremen and Lashell Morris of Elkhart; and two stepchildren, Steve Kring of Elkhart and Becky Kring of San Diego. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and two sisters, Phillis Bristol of Altamont, Mich.. and Carolyn Heyde of Bremen. He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Leonard graduated in 1972 from Bremen High School. He was a member of APA and American Legion in Avilla. He enjoyed playing pool and hunting. Leonard was a self-employed carpenter.

Cremation will take place at Elkhart Cremation Services and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
