Aug. 3, 1936 - July 15, 2012

ELKHART — Jack Gaskill, 75, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born Aug. 3, 1936, to Lloyd and Ruth (Kirkdorfer) Gaskill in Elkhart. He married Barbara Simone on Sept. 1, 1956, in Elkhart.

Mr. Gaskill was in sales in the van industry, working for Dygert Seating and most recently Midway Specialty Vehicles in Elkhart.

He and his wife, Barbara, enjoyed traveling to many different places over the years. He loved to garden and work in his yard and was a fan of Notre Dame.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Darcy Linton; one daughter-in-law, Heidi Gaskill; five grandchildren, Megan and Brock Linton and Alex, Evan and Elli Gaskill, all of Elkhart; brother Marvin (Irene) Gaskill of Bremen; and his beloved dog, Toby.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gregg Gaskill.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. with a funeral service at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Stemm Lawson Peterson Funeral Home. Jack’s brother, Pastor Marvin Gaskill, will officiate. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2012, in St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Elkhart.

Memorials are preferred to the Livestrong Foundation.
