Aug. 6, 1948 - July 15, 2012

ELKHART — Daniel P. “Pop’s” Haeb, 63, of Elkhart, passed away at 10:02 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

He was born Aug. 6, 1948, in Wilson, Penn.

Surviving are a son, Daniel P. (Tammy) Haeb Jr. of Elkhart; daughter Shirley M. (Carl) Kelley of Elkhart; seven grandchildren, Carl Kelley Jr., Amy-Jo Schrock, Kevin Kelley, Kylie Haeb, Derek Kelley, Sean Haeb and Ryan Haeb; three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Kasey and Kahne; his loving girlfriend, Patti Newton of Elkhart; his stepmother, Alice Haeb of South Bend; and the Fogels family in Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Shirley (Stofflet) Haeb.

Pop’s was a member of ABATE, Osceola American Legion Post 308, The Harley Owners Group and Elkhart Bowling Association.

He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, hunting, bowling, playing pool and working on and racing cars. Dan was formerly employed as a plant manager for Elkhart Foundry.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2012, and for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012, funeral at Walley Mills Zimmerman Funeral Home. Pastor Bob Vale of Osceola United Methodist Church will preside. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
