ELKHART – John Pennington has been hired as western central regional sales manager at ASA Electronics. He will work for the marine division and will be responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with distributors, spa and boat builders to increase brand recognition. Pennington has 20 years of experience in audio and video electronics sales and management.
Beacon Health System
ELKHART – Steven Eller has been named vice president and chief human resources officer for Beacon Health System. He holds a bachelor’s degree in administration from Indiana University and a master’s degree in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. Eller is a Michiana native and a graduate of Penn High School.
Brock Grain Systems
MILFORD – Chad Abrahamson has been named a design engineer for Brock Grain Systems. He will be responsible for design, development and product support for Brock’s line of grain storage systems. Abrahamson earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from South Dakota State University. He is a resident of Mishawaka.
Kruggel, Lawton & Company, LLC
SOUTH BEND – The following employees at Kruggel, Lawton & Company have passed the CPA exam and will be licensed as certified public accountants:
• Shane Stopczynski is an accountant for Kruggel Lawton’s South Bend office. He focuses on assurance engagements. Stopczynski is a graduate of Indiana University.
• Simon Smucker is an accountant with Kruggel Lawton’s Elkhart office. He works with assurance engagements. Smucker is a graduate of Goshen College and a resident of Goshen.
McCormick Motors
NAPPANEE – Tom Nunemakerhas been named a sixth place finalist in the National Chevrolet Sonic Walk-Around competition hosted by General Motors. He was selected as one of 10 finalists to participate after three levels of competition and was awarded $1000 for his sales presentation on the Sonic hatchback. Nunemaker is a sales consultant at McCormick Motors in Nappanee and a resident of Bremen.
Midwest Energy Cooperative
CASSOPOLIS – Patty Nowlin has graduated from the Robert I. Kabat Management Internship Program at the School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She received training in electric utility management and leadership techniques. Nowlin works as director of communications and community relations at Midwest Energy Cooperative. She is a resident of Elkhart.
Noah’s Landing Pet Care Clinic
ELKHART – Dr. Benjamin Berry has been hired as a member of the veterinary team at Noah’s Landing Pet Care Clinic. He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Kettering University and a doctorate of veterinary medicine from Michigan State University
Goshen College
GOSHEN – Goshen College has announced the following hires and retirements:
• James Townsend has been hired as vice president for enrollment management and marketing. He will oversee the admissions, financial aid, and public relations offices and serve on the president’s council. Townsend received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Abilene Christian University and a Master of Business Administration degree in human resources from LeTourneau University. He has more than 25 years of higher education leadership and experience.
• Bob Birkey is retiring from his positions as professor of social work and program director after 37 years of service. During his time at Goshen College, he achieved accreditation of the social work program and led a study-service term in Belize, among other accomplishments. Birkey, a Goshen College graduate, will continue to serve as an adjunct professor.
