ELKHART — County police and the coroner’s office are still trying to identify the victim in a fatal crash on Old U.S. Highway 20 on Saturday.

A 1995 Toyota Corrola was traveling east on Old U.S. Highway 20 east of C.R. 1 when it hit a 2008 Chevy Silverado that was parked in a driveway and then struck a tree shortly before 4 a.m. The vehicle became engulfed in flames, and the driver received severe burns, according to Capt. Jim Bradberry, spokesman for the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators may use dental records and/or DNA testing to identify the victim, according to Bradberry.
