The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred around 12:17 p.m. Monday.

A semi tractor and trailer was going east on S.R. 120 west of C.R. 675 W. when it passed an Amish buggy going the same direction and traveling in the shoulder lane.

The buggy, carrying four people, came into the path of the semi and collided with it. The passengers were ejected from the buggy and one of the occupants was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and two occupants had minor injuries.

One passenger was taken to Parkview LaGrange Hospital while the driver and other passenger were airlifted to Parkview Main in Fort Wayne.
