NAPPANEE — Andrew A. Raber, 63, of Nappanee, died at 6:50 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012, at IU Health Goshen Hospital, following a seven-month illness with lung cancer.

He was born June 20, 1949, to Atlee J. and Katie Ann (Helmuth) Raber in Bremen. He was a lifetime area resident.

He was a truck driver for Fidler Concrete and Aggregate Industries for over 25 years and a member of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church in Goshen. He enjoyed horse racing and was a member of the Standardbred Horse Racing Association.

Andrew married Joy Pisowicz Oct. 27, 1984, in Chesterton.

She survives, along with son Andrew (Rachel) Raber of Noblesville; daughter Megan (Ryan) Flickinger of Elkhart; twin granddaughters Ava and Addison Flickinger; mother-in-law Helen Pisowicz of Union Mills; sisters Malinda (John) Yutzy, Martha Raber and Betty Raber, all of Nappanee; and brothers Vernon (Mary Ellen) Raber of Abbeville, S.C., Ernest (Dawn) Raber of Etna Green and Larry (Vonda) Raber of Nappanee.

Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012, at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, July 10, 2012, also at the church. Pastors Wes Bontrager and Katie Cunningham will officiate. Burial will follow at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Yellow Creek Day Care.
