Two arrested for Goshen arsons

GOSHEN — Goshen police arrested a 20-year-old and an 18-year-old on preliminary arson charges following a string of recent fires.

Nicholas A. Lynch, 20, of Goshen, was arrested on four counts of arson and taken to the Elkhart County Jail.

Jose J. Rangel, 18, of Goshen, was arrested on one count of arson and also taken to the county jail.

The arrests were the end of a criminal investigation by Goshen Police Department, according to a press release.

If convicted, each charge calls for a maximum of 20 years in prison.

The arsons, which police said caused more than $60,000 in damage, included:

• Rogers Park Pavilion, March 21;

• Oakridge Park Pavilion, July 2;

• Vehicle arson at 2207 Homeacres, March 30; and

• Vehicle arson at 2207 Homeacres, May 13.
