15,000 people come out for Elkhart Jazz Festival

“It’s certainly larger than we had seen before,” she said. “It was encouraging all around.”
Ticket sales came in at $98,296, a boost from last year’s figure of $92,000. Leichty said organizers were not sure what to expect for this year’s numbers.
Long-time jazz fans said this year’s crowd on the Civic Plaza was one of the biggest they had seen. Some of that could be attributed to it being the 25th anniversary of the festival and the good weather last weekend.
Leichty said the musicians were all complimentary of the festival and how it was run.
“Elkhart should feel really good about what it accomplished,” she said.
