ELKHART — Two teenagers, including a 15-year-old juvenile, are in custody accused of being part of a Friday night incident that left another juvenile male with a gunshot wound.

Elkhart police said Saturday night that Dalvin D. Slater, 19, of Chicago, and a 15-year-old Elkhart boy have been arrested on preliminary charges of criminal recklessness with a firearm.

Their arrests stem from an incident in the 1200 block of Lafayette Street. Officers were called to the area at 10:16 p.m. Friday on a report of a fight and that had a gunshot victim had left the scene. The victim was later found at Elkhart General Hospital suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
