Elkhart man accused of neglecting infant

Joshua Stone, 27, of 706 Orchard St., Apt. 1, was taken into custody at the Elkhart police station, 175 Waterfall Drive, in connection with a 7-month-old child who was taken to Elkhart General Hospital to be treated for injuries.
The child was later transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, where he was treated and discharged.
Stone faces a preliminary charge of battery with a serious bodily injury and a preliminary charge neglect of a dependent, both felonies which carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. Stone was booked at the Elkhart County Jail on no bond.
