ELKHART — A motorist who was trapped following a rollover accident on the U.S. 20 Bypass Thursday morning was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

The accident happened between U.S. 33 and C.R. 17 east of Elkhart and involved a sport utility vehicle that was towing a recreational vehicle.

A woman was temporarily trapped, but a child and dog were able to get out of the vehicle and were being checked out by emergency responders.

Concord Township Fire Department personnel responded to the accident.
