ATLANTA — Paullette “Yipper-Dipper” Chandler, 66, of Atlanta, formerly of Elkhart, Ind., died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Marietta Health and Rehabilitation Center in Marietta.

Paullette was born Sept. 29, 1945, in Norfolk, W.Va., to Geroma Ruby (Triggs) and Schley Haynes.

Paullette worked as a CNA/QMA and also as a welder. She was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Elkhart. An outgoing person who enjoyed laughter and having fun with family and friends, she loved all animals and especially her dog, Radar.

Paullette is survived by her daughter, Monique (Chandler) Mosby of Atlanta; her adopted mother, Lucy Royal of Elkhart; twin sister Jeannette Newton-McKnight of Atlanta; sister Beverly Ellison of Fort Wayne, Ind.; brothers Kim Royal and Henry Royal, both of Elkhart, Craig Royal of Huntsville, Ala., and John “Hippy” Royal of Pendleton, Ind.; and nieces and nephew Letha McKnight, Denise McAry, Sarita Bonner and Freddie McKnight Jr., all of Elkhart.

Paullette was preceded in death by her mother and father and her adopted father, James “Pops” Royal.

Friends may call from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

The family’s preferred memorial is the Humane Society of Elkhart County, 54687 C.R. 19 Bristol, IN 46507.
