The National Weather Service has issued a fire weather watch from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The fire weather watch is in effect for most of northern Indiana and northwest Ohio. The watch area includes Elkhart, Lagrange and Kosciusko counties.

The watch, which indicates increased fire danger, is related to the forecast high temperature of 100 to 105 degrees on Thursday, coupled with very low humidity and winds from 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph.

Nearly all northern Indiana counties remain under burn bans due to the threat of wildfires.
