The man, who Sgt. Jeff Stutsman from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department described as in his late 50s, was driving a black Jeep west on C.R. 26 behind a garbage truck when the garbage truck stopped at a red light. The man driving the Jeep rear-ended the garbage truck.
Stutsman said the man was trapped in his vehicle because his door wouldn’t open. He suffered some facial injuries and was taken in an ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital.
