June 5, 1966 - June 21, 2012

NAPPANEE — Laura Ann (Everly-Tener) Adams, age 46, of 501 E. Indiana Ave., Nappanee, went home to be with the Lord at 6 p.m. Thursday (June 21, 2012) at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, Ill.

She was born June 5, 1966, in Elkhart to Ken and Sue (Everly) Tener.

Laura was a lifetime resident of Nappanee. She graduated from NorthWood High School in 1984 and was a graduate of Elkhart Beauty College. She was a homemaker and caregiver and was a member of First Brethren Church. She enjoyed collecting Barbie dolls and sewing and loved animals.

Laura was a people person; she enjoyed interacting with people. In carrying out that love of others, Laura was an organ donor.

Laura married Harry Adams on Oct. 26, 2007, in Elkhart. He survives. Also surviving are a son, Robert Kenneth Kinney of Goshen; stepsons Harry Adams Jr. of Louisiana and Ryan Heeter of Alaska; her parents, Ken and Sue (Everly) Tener of Nappanee; a brother, Chad (Grace) Tener of Leesburg; a niece, Ashley Tener; and nephews James and Austin Tener.

Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. The family encourages friends and family to wear pink clothing in honor of Laura. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral, which will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the First Brethren Church. The Rev. Tom Schiefer and the Rev. Bart Shaw will officiate. Cremation will follow.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
