Indicators provide mixed view of Hoosier economy
The slight rise in the Ceridian-UCLA Pulse of Commerce Index was counterbalanced by a decline in the Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan index of consumer sentiment. In addition financial troubles in Europe along with a dispirited labor market created more worries for the Hoosier economy.
Extending the mixed messages, increases were recorded in the housing market and in auto sales, while decreases were posted in the Institute for Supply Management’s Purchasing Managers Index and in the Dow Jones Transportation Average.
