Jan. 14, 1917 - June 17, 2012

MICHIGAN CITY — Evelyn Ruth Williams, 95, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2012.

She served the Lord faithfully for 65 years. He was such a peace and comfort to her.

Mrs. Williams was born Jan. 14, 1917, to Fred and Edith Pletcher in Wakarusa. She married Le Roy J. Williams on Dec. 31, 1936. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1973.

They were blessed with daughters Marceil (Gene) White of El Cajon, Calif., and Sylvia (Kenneth) Zbell of Michigan City; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include her sisters, Marie Mowat of Wakarusa, who will be 100 on July 4, and Betty Schmuhl of Goshen.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Clyde of Elkhart and Forest of Florida; and two sisters, Mary Jane Steel of Elkhart and Helen Reynolds of California.

We rejoice, she died peacefully and is in Heaven with her Lord.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral service celebrating her life at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Road, LaPorte. A private burial will take place in Carmel Cemetery, LaPorte, at a later date.
