SOUTH BEND — A resident of Goshen was arrested by federal agents as a result of an investigation of harboring illegal aliens.

Margarito Fuentes-Reyes, 50, was one of six people arrested and charged with one count of conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens who are in the United States in violation of immigration laws and one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud.

The other five individuals are from Indianapolis.

The indictment alleges that the six presented false information, forged documents and made false representations to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles and the Indiana Secretary of State to obtain motor vehicle registrations, license plates and titles.

Initial hearings were scheduled for this morning, June 21, before Magistrate Judge Christopher Nuechterlein. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kenneth Hays.
