Officials are conducting an autopsy and results are pending on a 5-year-old who died Sunday.

Amber Mitchel was found dead in her home on 59983 C.R. 1. The girl’s parents called emergency units for their daughter, who was found unconscious and not breathing.

On Sunday, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department said there appeared to be no foul play involved, and officials believe the girl had died as a result of complications from a previous injury or illness.
