Nadine Bolduan, who was taken to Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville with complaints of pain to the head, was released shortly after she was treated. She was driving a 2008 Chevy Avalanche east on U.S. 6 near C.R. 600 E. and swerved onto the left lane to avoid traffic that had slowed down in front of her when her vehicle collided with a 2003 Buick LaSabre driven by Paul. D. Fought, 58.

Fought was pinned in his vehicle. After he was freed, medics flew him to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne with severe leg trauma, according to a Noble County Sheriff’s Department accident report.

Bolduan was given a portable breath test after the accident, which resulted in a blood-alcohol content of 0.17 percent. When she refused to take a certified test, a warrant was issued for a blood test, which resulted in a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent.

Bolduan faced criminal charges of reckless homicide and criminal recklessness in 1994 after Elizabeth Leman, 9, was killed and another girl injured on July 4, 1994, on Lake Syracuse. The girls were hit by a jet-powered ski driven by Bolduan. The charges were dropped in 1995 by the Kosciusko County prosecutor at the time, David Kolbe, who decided that his predecessor did not present all available evidence to the grand jury that handed up the indictment against Bolduan.

Assisting at the Thursday afternoon accident scene were Kendallville Police, Noble County EMS, Kendallville Fire Department, Orange Township Fire Department and Parkview Samaritan.
