Andre Torres- Armed Robbery with a Deadly Weapon

Now Darius K. Q. Thomas, 17, of 1824 College Manor Drive, is in the county jail on preliminary felony charges of armed robbery and possessing a sawed-off shotgun in connection with a heist at a downtown gas station Sunday.
Police were called to Thomas’ home Tuesday about a shooting, and they learned relatives had taken Thomas to the hospital. Thomas originally said someone else had shot him outside, but he later told police he’d managed to shoot himself as he got the shotgun out of a vehicle, according to Goshen police.
Police said the continued investigation linked Thomas to the robbery, and he was booked into the Elkhart County Jail this afternoon, May 25, according to jail records.
Also booked into the jail was Andre Torres, 17, of 824 S. 11th St., who was arrested Wednesday on a preliminary robbery charge.
The two teens are charged as adults because juvenile court doesn’t have jurisdiction in armed robberies for people 16 and older.
