Man injures nurse while evading police at EGH Wednesday
Officers responded to Elkhart General Hospital, 600 East Blvd., shortly after 3 p.m. to arrest Anthony Loftin, 27, who was wanted on a felony warrant for battery on a pregnant woman, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.
As an officer tried to handcuff Loftin, he ran from the officer and grabbed a nurse by the neck and pushed her to the ground, according to police. Loftin then ran from the hospital. Police are still looking for him, said Elkhart County Sheriff spokesman Jim Bradberry.
The nurse, a 38-year-old woman, suffered from a light wound to her neck.
