OSCEOLA — An Elkhart woman died Sunday afternoon after being hit by a car outside an Osceola bar the night before.

According to WSBT.com, Cynthia Cataldo, 50, was walking across the street toward Mr. G’s Bar around 11:30 p.m. Saturday when she quickly turned back in the direction she was coming from.

The car, driven by Lesley Craft, 30, struck Cataldo, who was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital to be treated for severe head and internal injuries.

Craft, who is from South Carolina visiting relatives in the area, was uninjured and was not arrested or cited.

Police say that neither alcohol nor speed contributed to the accident, but the investigation is ongoing.
