Winding Waters Brethren Church is holding a benefit garage sale for Elkhart native Jessamyn Fields and her son, Pierce, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, April 28, at the church, 420 C.R. 4 W.

Pierce was born with a rare disease of the heart and other organs called heterotaxy syndrome. He and his mother are living in Boston while he receives treatment.

Clothes for people of all ages will be on sale, as well as household items and yard decor. A bake sale will be held in conjunction with the event and pony rides will also be offered.

Proceeds will help Fields to pay Pierce’s medical bills and other expenses.
