ELKHART — Some parents dropping off and picking up their children at Baugo Community Schools will have to find a new route beginning this week.

Work to install sewer lines on C.R. 3 may begin as early as Thursday. The section from C.R. 20 to Ventura Road will likely be closed for the rest of the school year, according to Baugo Community Schools Director of Operations Nathan Dean.

A detour designated by the Elkhart County Highway Department will direct traffic from C.R. 20 south onto Charlotte Avenue and right on C.R. 24 back to C.R. 3.

Parents visiting Jimtown Intermediate School will have to approach the school from the south and turn around in the neighborhood using Cook Drive, Palace Lane and Bernice Drive. Bus drivers will adjust their routes as needed.
