The Cape Coral, Fla., native will play for Skip Holtz, son of former Irish coach Lou Holtz, but will have to sit out this season due to eligibilty rules.
He is expected to finish the spring semester at Notre Dame.
“With Aaron originally being from Florida, we’re very familiar with the kind of player he is,” Skip Holtz said in a release on the Bulls’ website. “Aaron had a great freshman season at Notre Dame, and we’re excited to welcome him into the Bulls family.”
Lynch recorded 33 tackles, 5 1/2 sacks and 14 quarterback hurries in 12 games with the Irish last season.
