MILLERSBURG — A 67-year-old Goshen man was flown to the hospital Saturday afternoon after he was hit while bicycling north of town.

Perry Yoder was headed east on C.R. 38 and was preparing to turn left onto C.R. 37 shortly after noon when he was hit by an eastbound van driven by Veronica Cardona-Segovia, 35, of Ligonier, said Patrolman Michael Daly of the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.

Yoder suffered possible neck injuries and was taken to Memorial Hospital of South Bend by helicopter.

The impact caused Yoder to roll onto the van’s windshield, police said.

The area around C.R. 37 and C.R. 38 was closed for about 1 1/2 hours as emergency personnel responded to the accident.
