ELKHART — The Elkhart Public Library is putting the finishing touches on its renovation project.

Since renovations began in October, the library has seen many changes take place, including a children’s reading room and new technology areas.

Now all of that is nearly complete.

“We’re putting together the ‘punch list’ now,” said Deb Stewart, library director. She explained that the list is comprised of unfinished details that were noticed during a walk-through with contractors.

At this point, the whole building is open again. Much of what is left to be done is painting.

The library is planning several days of activities once the project is completed. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Chamber of Commerce is being planned for May 10. An open house is also planned for local businesses on 11, with another, more family oriented day, set for May 12.

For more information contact the library at 522-3333 or on its website at www.myepl.org.
