An Elkhart County Sheriffs’s Department officer shot an aggressive dog this afternoon near Millersburg.

According to information from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, at about 1:15 p.m., an officer was at a residence located in the 14000 block of C.R. 36 for an investigation.

While there, two dogs became aggressive toward the officer. The officer shot and killed a dog that charged at him.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to the Sheriff’s department.
