Elkhart County Coroner John White was not able to determine a cause of death for the 15-month-old Elkhart girl who died Saturday.

White performed an autopsy Monday on Taylor Hartung-Mann, but said additional toxicology and microscopic tissue examination will have to be done.

“That’s what we need before we’re ready to rule on the cause of death,” White said.

The toxicology will take three or four weeks, while the tissue examination will take anywhere from a month to three months.

Lt. Laura Koch said police responded Dec. 31 to a call of an “unresponsive child” at a home in the 700 block of West Bristol Street. Taylor died that evening.
