Football postseason honors continue to roll in for Truth area athletes.

A total of 15 players and one manager were named to the Indiana Football Coaches Association Region 2 All-Star team. The squad was selected by vote of northern Indiana coaches Wednesday night at the College Football Hall of Fame.

Ryan Konrath, Jimtown's all-time leading rusher and scorer, topped the offensive unit. Concord tackle Kyle Magnuson, wide receivers Brenden Williams of Central and Josh Ortiz of Goshen, Penn guard Mike Smith and two NorthWood Panthers -- center Josh Lechlitner and running back Kent Biller -- were chosen.

On defense, three local players were named to the secondary -- cornerbacks Scott Sindle of Memorial and Rodney Dale of Central and safety David Schenk of Jimtown. Also chosen were linebacker Jordan Pirtle of Jimtown and tackle Brad Sink of Goshen.

Adam Miller of Fairfield earned a slot at punter while two Penn players -- running back Steve Depositar and linebacker Quinn Doan -- were at-large team selections.

Tyler Miller of Goshen is an automatic pick for the North squad as a team manager.

Region 2 selections will be submitted for nomination to represent the North team in the Indiana North-South All-Star Game in Indianapolis. The game will be played Friday, July 18, at Indianapolis North Central High School.

Bill Sharpe of Jimtown, who retired from coaching Monday, was recognized as Region 2 Class 2A coach of the year. Also honored were Concord's Tim Dawson in 4A, Goshen's Brent Baldwin in 5A, Kevin Downey of South Bend St. Josephs in 3A and Rod Younis of Triton in 1A.
